Four Benefits of A Corvette

The Chevrolet Corvette is a two-seater sports car that was first introduced in 1953 as a show car. The first model produced was a convertible but the car is now also available in the coupe body style. Corvette has evolved through seven generations with the latest C7 versions being introduced in 2015. The families of the car include the Stingray, Grand sport and Z06.

Being a two-seater, two-door car, the Corvette is relatively small in size. This means it can fit almost anywhere and is easy to maneuver around with. Corvette boasts a powerful engine with a standard 6.2L V8 for all C7 versions. The base engine of the 2018 Corvette is capable of producing up to 455 horsepower and 460 pound-feet torque. This power can accelerate the car from 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. The engine of the Z06 model for the same year goes further to produce up to amazing 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet torque.
Pushing the limits even higher is the newest 2019 ZR1 model, a supercar with a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine. This engine bursts out a whole 755 horsepower and 715 lb. ft making it the most powerful engine in the Corvette category. The seven-speed manual is standard for this car but an 8-speed paddle shift transmission is also available.
  • Reasonable Fuel Economy
Despite working with a powerful V8 engine, most Corvette models still manage to achieve a decent EPA fuel economy rating. The cars utilize advanced technologies such as cylinder deactivation and variable valve timing to make this possible. In particular, the 2014 Corvette Stingray is rated among the top most fuel-efficient sports car with an estimated 29 mpg on the highway in the seventh gear.
  • Removable Rooftop
All the C7 Corvette versions come with removable roof-tops that allows for plenty of fresh air and light. For coupes, the standard roof panel is made of carbon-fiber and therefore, the cars are ideal both for the streets and racetracks. The full convertibles on the other hand are limited to the streets due to the soft-tops. These rooftops are however wider and this gives the car an advantage of a large open space.

Corvettes have both great interior and exterior features that make them a must have. Standard features for the latest models include the leather upholstery, power adjustable heated and ventilated seats, keyless entry, cruise control, 360-degree camera system and dual-zone climate control. Other beneficial features varying from trim to trim include the magnetic adaptive suspension, Brembo brakes and the performance active exhaust system.
